Richard Strachan
6 September – 4 October 2007

Derived from interior spaces and the interaction of planes, light and colour within them, the motivation for Richard Strachan's work is provided by his experience of the constructed environment. Stachan has developed a geometric language to convey the weight and proportionality of architectural spaces through the emotive, illusionary and travelling qualities of colour. The hard-edged constructed element of the composition competes with nebulous colour forms, realised through glazes of pigment infused gloss paint.
