Amy Copeman & Edinburgh Printmakers 19 October – 16 November 2006
Amy Copeman’s photographs explore the theme of companionship and the human need for
companionship in today’s isolating society. Paris Dogs formed a large part of her degree show at
Edinburgh Collage of Art in 2004, and lead to the second series after graduation, Dam Dogs. The
photos were taken over a period of two years, requiring many trips to both Amsterdam and Paris,
where dogs are seen as a commonplace part of human society, an extension to an individual’s
personality.
